Dirigo Reads - First Grade

We are so excited to announce that Veazie Community School was selected to partner with Dirigo Reads during the 2022-23 school year. Starting in the fall, each of our first-grade students began receiving a new book every month to take home and keep. Dirigo Reads began in 2019, and its goal is to expand to all Maine public school first-grade classrooms by 2025. Founder Dan Cashman, along with other local business and organization sponsors, understand and value that the excitement and enjoyment of reading can open several doors to learning and creativity.
