We'll be celebrating National Poetry Month in the library with many different types of poems - including "Book Spine Poetry." Today middle school students were given a handful of printed book titles. With their partners, they began browsing and selected one or two that stuck out most to them. Next, they continued to find more spine titles that connected to the first selection. Once their group had six to eight titles, they arranged them in order to create an original poem that read as a sentence or statement top-down.
