6th Grade ELA - Nature Makerspace

When the Penobscot riverfront is right in your school's backyard, you take advantage of a warm, fall morning! Students in my sixth grade ELA class just finished book groups. They were asked to recreate a significant scene from their book using only materials found in nature. 

Eric and Paul read "The Red Kayak." They were very particular in the driftwood that they selected, making sure they found one piece with a hole in it. 

Gabby, Anna and Noah read Alan Gratz "Ban This Book" and recreated the banned book locker.

It was a beautiful Fresh Air Friday, and so nice to get out and explore!
