Students in grades 3-8 listened to this biography of Margaret Hamilton, NASA's first software engineer who helped Apollo 11 successfully land on the moon. Check out this video from TedEd summarizing the story we read.
We learned about binary coding through a hands on activity from Our Family Code. Students then coded their names in a variety of ways - with playdoh, by making flags, or coloring in 0's and 1's to represent the letters of their name depending on the grade level.
